Сенат США одобрил временный запрет на CBDC

Сенат США одобрил жилищный законопроект 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, который запрещает ФРС до конца 2030 года выпускать CBDC или существенно похожие цифровые активы напрямую, через финансовые учреждения или других посредников. За документ проголосовали 85 сенаторов, против — пять. В законопроекте предусмотрено исключение для долларовой валюты, которая является открытой, не требует разрешений и сохраняет приватность наличных долларов. Даже после истечения временного запрета ФРС не сможет запустить CBDC без отдельного разрешения Конгресса. Следующий шаг — голосование в Палате представителей.
